TJR says

Just 3 months after Jim Morrison’s death from a heart attack in Paris, the trio of Ray Manzarek (vocals, keyboards), Robby Krieger (vocals, guitar, harmonica) and John Densmore (drums) had delivered a brand new album, the appropriately titled “Other Voices”. Trouble was, without the magical mystery of their former front man the ensemble were bereft of anything that remotely could be described as special. Ain’t it a funny thing? How, the absence of just one little ingredient can spoil the taste of a whole meal? Best track on offer is the single “Tightrope Ride” – Ray’s keyboard work here is the only thing on the album which recollects past glories. By the time of the lame pop rocker “I’m Horny, I’m Stoned” I’m thinking that a bridge jump might be the way to go and by the end of MOR soft rocker “Wandering Musician” I’m ready to slash my wrists…
