“Neon Philharmonic” by The Neon Philharmonic - album review
features in: Album Chart of 1969 ● Album Chart of the Decade: 1960s |
The second and final album of sunshine pop with classical overtones from the group led by songwriter/conductor Tupper Saussy (piano, harpsichord, pirate voice) and co-produced by Don Gant (singer). It's probably telling that my favoured pick is the purely classical finale “The Mordor National Anthem”, devoid of pretentious lyrics and sappy vocals.
