TJR says

Traffic failed to deliver an album in the calendar year of '72 - a first since their formation in '67. Since last time out they had cut ties with the drum n bass rhythm section of Jim Gordon and Ric Grech, replacing them with drummer Roger Hawkins and bassist David Hood, from the Muscle Shoals Sound Studio house band no less! It's business as usual with the other four: Steve Winwood (lead and backing vocals, guitar, piano, organ), Chris Wood (saxophone, flute), Jim Capaldi (percussion, backing vocals) and Rebop Kwaku Baah (percussion). Augmenting the new sextet were another couple of players from the Muscle Shoals stable; Barry Beckett (keyboards) and Jimmy Johnson (clarinet). Unfortunately, that Alabama magic fails to spark within the realms of Traffic; smoothness and professionalism does nothing for me. Easily their most boring and bland effort to date.
